Summer 00s

Every year when the summer season comes, it constantly reminds me of my childhood days, and I feel nostalgic about the Summer 00s. To share my glimpse of childhood, I would like to share how I spent one of the summer days.

Listening to birds chirping, playing in the sea, making sand castles, and playing with dad and siblings was a wonderful memory. Later after coming home, we all are exhausted just from looking at the hot scorching sun; I have decided not to step out of the house. I switched on the fan and lay flat on the floor with an ice bar in hand. Mom called me to help her get the fryums sundried on the terrace. Lazily I got up and went to her with a sulking face, then she said, “Meri laadli, I will give you cool mango juice if you help me” by listening to the word mango, I decided to help her with her chores on the terrace.

After one hour, its 1 pm, and one of my favorite summer past time in the afternoon was watching TV. Especially I watch Looney tunes, Mickey & friends, popeye, Oswald, Pengu, Ben 10, Tom & Jerry, Pink Panther, Angry Birds, and The Powerpuff Girls. Well, after watching all these serials, it would be 4:30 pm. As the sun starts to set down, now I wish to go out with my bicycle, to play outside. Once I reach the park, I am fond of playing with the puppies around the park corner, and then I like to play on the swing with my friends. After getting tired of playing around, I reached home and ate the food cooked by my mom and listened to my grandma’s stories, and I would sleep.

Life was effortless during my childhood. My only worry was the homework and being scared of the Maths subject.

Now, I would not complain that my life has become challenging, but it has changed into complete grown-up life: studies, jobs, bills to pay, and attending get-togethers (not a fun business). But, once in a while, everyone should take time to appreciate the little things around them, keep more in touch with the environment, and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Just not me; many people miss their childhood and wish to relive it again. Right now, mental stress has become a new unseen pandemic in today’s generation. Every person has a trigger point for their youth and wants to share it with others. I want to give them a place to share their childhood memories and make it a #summer 00s part of my blog; they are free to upload or comment on the blog about the best memory of their childhood.

I HEARD A SUBLIMINAL AND THIS HAPPENED😨

Hello everyone, I hope you people are doing good and keeping safe.

In today’s bolg I will be sharing with you guys my experience of when I tried a subliminal to loose weight!!!

Experience; Before doing this subliminal challenge myself I watched several vedios of people who had done this challenge before and most of them got negative thoughts and vibes, a headache or a stomach ache after listening to it.

But for me the experience was quite different. As soon as I listened to it I got a boost of positivity in me, my mind felt quite relaxed, there were no negative thoughts as such. It turned out to be like a meditation for me.

Results; Before starting this challenge my weight was 61.5 and after 7 days ie. on completion of the challenge I was 60kg. I lost 1.5 kgs😲. This was really Epic and insane.

I suggest you all should also try this challenge out. I have linked the subliminal which I heard below👇https://youtu.be/BBOA3AuE7Y0

He is attracted to Rachel in a way, he is unable to ignore. But the best laid plans turn sour when their loyalties are tested.

Will Rachel be successful in locating the shipment? Will she get the freedom she much anticipates? At what cost? Will Killian get their side of the bargain or lose everything at stake?

First and foremost this book is only for adults, as it contains wild sex scenes. This book is a perfect blend of intense Mafia vs Motorcycle Club territorial war. The story starts with a bang. The character built up and dialogues are well constructed. I felt the sex scenes were overpowering the story as they were frequent than required. The story line up is fast paced and interesting. The book is a short and an enjoyable read

About the book:

“How can a race that is spread out across multiple countries be considered a threat? For as long as he lives, be it short or long, he knows he will never comprehend this.”

Set in the time of “The Holocaust” and WW2 in 1942, this book is about Lale and Geeta who were the prisoners in the concentration camp in Auschwitz, Germany acquired Poland.

Lale is a Slovakian Jew who is rounded up by the Nazi troops. Having been forcefully taken away from his home and transported like an animal, surrounded by heavily armed guards, striped and numbered 32407, Lale is given a job as a “Tätowierer”. He must tattoo the number on every man, woman, child transported to the camp as prisoners. Here he meets Geeta, a prisoner in women’s block, when he is asked to re-tattoo her number on her wrist. They fall in love at first sight.

At the camp, he witnesses gassing of prisoners, mass shooting, unprovocatinal killing of people by the guards, atrocities & torture and so much more. But his heightened survival instinct, opportunistic nature and his determination to live beyond the torture and start a family with Geeta, helps him escape from the camp.

This book is about their journey from being dumped in the camp to escaping from the hell to make a beautiful life for themselves. It felt more like a memoir than a fiction novel. It lacked emotional depth but as the subject is very sensitive it does leave an impact. Those who are interested in the novels based on the “The Holocaust” may like this book

The Cindrella of Karnal by Reecha Agarwal Goyal.Book review

Divya is cursed as an “inauspicious” since birth. Raised by her orthodox, paternal family and a single mother, she runs away from her home in Karnal to study Psychology. Here she befriends Ved and Kanika who become her lifeline. She finds herself amongst her trusted and supportive friends who become more than her family. But when has life been easy for Divya!

Life takes an upturn where she finds herself in a devastating web of social injustice and abuse, patriarchy, social discrimination. Will she be able to find herself once again? Will she be able to make her mother proud? Will she be able to fullfill her dream to help the people in Karnal with their emotional and psychological issues?

“Cindrella of Karnal” is a fast paced psychological thriller focusing on women centric social issues like female infanticide, molestation, sexual and mental harrasment, injustice towards single mothers and daughters and so much more. The suffering of women, physically and mentally, from an orthodox and dominating society is decribed very well. The story started smoothly but the unexpected twist midway was surprising. The second half of the book is gripping.

This short power-packed inspirational story of a run-way girl and her fight against all odds, is highly recommended to those who like to read woman centric psychological thrillers. This is not a Cinderella retelling, but an new story altogether.

About the book:

#Qotd : Did you like the cover and the topic of the book?

‘What do you see’ is the story about the racism that Cassius faces in school which breaks his moral so much that he decides to not go to school at all. It is about how his mother motivates him to look at himself differently and face such situations with a different perspective as life for ‘them’ is not easy.

By them, here she means “black people”. It is appalling to see how children in school bully others for their skin colour. I am sure they don’t even know what that means. Why do they tease then!? They hear grownups tease others & children follow them blindly, don’t they? Irrespective of the colour, I am sure there are countless Cassius’s who face these racial injustice at such a tender age and sadly they do not even have that emotional maturity to deal with it. This book shows the first step to face such situations. It asks them to look at themselves in the mirror and appreciate what they see.

Honestly, I am impressed by the quality of the children’s stories that have evolved with time. Story books like these teach not just behavioural moral values but also deal with the emotional turmoil of the children. I remember during my childhood such deep, emotionally uplifting stories were hardly available.

Apart from the usual fairytales, such stories are extremely important for today’s kids to read, as they need to learn to fight back and know their self worth. This book is a gentle reminder with a powerful message to all the children that they are more than what they are superficially.

Needless to say, this book is a must have in every home with a child, irrespective of the colour of their skin. Because it is essential that both, the children who bully and those who get bullied read this book.

Fireflies at 3am by Danni Thomas

Book name: Fireflies at 3am 🦋

Author: Danni Thomas @danni.shoetry

Genre: Shoetry

Edition: Paperback

#reviewpartner : @bookhookedofficial

Rating: 5⭐

#Qotd : What do you think of the cover? Would you like to read the “shoetry”?

“I had many affairs
She had one
She forgave me for all
I forgave her for none”

– Hurt: one of my favourite poems from the book. 🦋

“Fireflies at 3am” is a shoetry i.e. a one of a kind combination of short stories and poetry.

There are around 83 poems with each having unique illustrations. Some of which have short anecdotal stories along with it which are relatable and thought-provoking.

These poems are about sacrifices, beliefs, feelings, insecurities, self pride and righteousness, mental, emotional & physical abuse and much more.

The poems describe variables of human nature which are human yet inhuman, humourous yet satirical, superficial yet deep, anecdotal yet ironic, selfless yet selfish, racist and sexist.

The author has touched the chord of the deepest anguish, jealousy, love, hurt and agony perfectly in very few words. Some peoms are very short but decribe the ocean of emotions. I read this shoetry twice just to embrace the warmth it gave me while reading it.

I recommend this book not only to all the poetry lovers but also to the beginniners. The style is easy, quirky and will not disappoint.

“… And they lived happily ever after
Once upon a time” ..
