BOOK NAME: URBAN CHRONICLES II

Author: Nita Bajoria @bajorianita

Edition: Paperback.

#Targetreader: Adults, parents, guardians.

#Rating: 4 ⭐

Genre: Graphic short stories.

▪️About the book:

Urban Chronicles ll is the second book in the graphic short stories series. It has three stories that centres upon the perils of the children of urban lifestyle where parents though provide everything superficially, fail to understand the child’s psychology. It shows how parents try to over protect, over provide, over discipline and are over ambitious with their children and in that process fail to address the child’s psychological needs.

▪️ My opinion:

All the three stories have beautiful illustrations and narration is expressive. The first story slightly irked me as i felt as it justified kidnapping with no reprimand. The reason for which the young woman kidnapped a child was not acceptable. Having said that, the stories impart a wonderful message of compassion for urban parents towards their children in this fast paced, high tech, competitive world. My favourite story is ‘Three women in a boat’. It was warm and relatable. It depicts parental anxiety that is passed on to next generations. A must read graphic novel for all grown ups.

BLAHMAN AND THE TERRIFYING TERROR OF JESICA

The book is a comic read.  The book is filled with comic moments and laughters without any logic.  However,  the comedy doesn’t need any logic.  This book is 3rd in the series but its my first read and being impressed with this read, i am really fascinated towards the other two.

As the title justifies,  the story revolves around the main protagonist Blahman where he along with his sister and Aven are trapped in a cube by Jessica. They are in search of a way to get out.

The paperback version  also includes the colouring part and a cutout bookmark.
The language and narration is subtle and simple with jokes and laughs.
Overall, a pleasurable and funny read.

Warming bloom

The book is a collection of 50 poems where
Ten topics have been merged into five poems each.

The book discusses about several environmental issues that we are facing in current era like global warming, disasters, etc.
This book is relatable and connecting as we all are facing such issues.

It is indeed need of the hour.   It will at least make the readers aware about the concerns.
This book deserves reading and in my opinion everyone should read this.

The language is simple  and comprehensive with excellent  vocabulary.  The cover and title is very beautiful.  Highly recommended.

Is Divine Energy: The Secret Of The Limitless Immanent Valur by Vipin Gupta

Is Divine Energy: The Secret Of The Limitless Immanent Valur by Vipin Gupta is a peaceful and divine self help book. As the name claims, the book is absolutely insightful and impacting.
The title of the book is so beautiful and  energetic.
The book has six chapters in total and further, we would find subtitles in those chapters.
Divine mindset isn’t something that is meant only for monks and saints  but it is an energy that makes us productive, positive and confident  to achieve success.
Author has not only wrote the content according to spirituality and spiritualism but has also explained vividly by the help of science.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and it inspired me a lot too.
I must appreciate the efforts of the author in so much of research work while writing this book.
I will definitely implement the good things discussed in the book into my life.
The language is beautiful and flowing.
This book is a sure recommendable read but the high level of mature content, it is not suitable fir teenagers or beginners. Overall a deep and thoughtful read.

Lil Leela’s Journey

This is a children’s book where the main theme of the story is how natural surroundings and environment can be so fun which generally city kids are missing.

The story commences with Leela, a little girl and her family is planning to visit her father’s hometown, the village where he spent his childhood. She wants to pack her beautiful dresses and toys but her mother refrains her from doing so. She was perplexed how she would spend her days there without them but once she reaches there, the exploration, the activities let herself with a new perspective.

A very well developed story with beautiful illustrations that will keep the readers hooked throughout the story.Cover is beautiful and title is very appropriate. This story feels so real and I think it’s pertinent one for all the toddlers!

BOOK REVIEW- NIKOLA TESLA AND 5 OTHER UNSUNG INVENTORS

Book- Nikola Tesla & Five Other Unsung Inventors
Author- Girish V. Magre
Genre- Biographies / Non-fiction / Essay
Format- Kindle
Ratings- 3.5/5

REVIEW:
This book talks about 6 inventors:
1. Nikola Tesla
2. Alfred Nobel
3. Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner
4. Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar
5. Viktor Emil Frankl
6. Robert Kerns
Author Girish Magre has written this book with a view of appreciating these heroes who had contributed to many inventions that are helping many of us today.

My Thoughts:
Reading something like this was really a new experience for me. I have read a complete autobiography but combine biographies always held me back. I used to think that this format would never give justice to one’s story.
But to my surprize I actually read it with interest. The information provided was adequate to know why these 6 were called as the unsung heroes.
Really a very interesting read.

Points I liked :
– The idea of putting light on the people who are not always celebrated.

Book Review: F Stands for Success by Rakhi Kapoor

Book-  F Stands for Success
Writer- Rakhi Kapoor

Genre- Self-help
Format- Kindle
Price- ₹0 for Kindle Unlimited
Pages- 150
Rating- 4/5

Review:
The book talks about rising from one’s failure and how opportunities come to a person capable of bringing them to reality at a right time. There are different concepts being discussed such as ifeas flying in space instead of being captured in a human mind.
The main focus of the author is on the concept of learning from failures and not giving up in your dreams.

My Thoughts:
I rarely like any self-help books but this one is my favourite read of 2021. I am not saying that after reading this book my outlook towards life changed completely but in some manner the book felt relatable and it motivated me somewhat. Most of the authors often keep bragging about how great they are doing in life and how talented they are in grabbing opportunities and now their hardwork has paid off. But this author talked about something which is very common but rarely discussed ! She talked about how she failed in life and about encountering failure multiple times. It really felt very much relatable for a commoner like me !

Points I liked:
🌺The book felt very relatable.
🌺 The book focused on a very realistic problem.

Suggestions:
📍 I would have loved to read more examples.
